Lockdown Love, a Fun Weekend Staycation at Canopy by Hilton in Frisco, TX.

Updated: Aug 21, 2022

We can all agree that 2020 has thrown us a few crazy and uncertain months, and we are EXHAUSTED! Personally, it's been hard to keep up with everything that is happening—from adjusting to a new lifestyle at home, remaining connected with loved ones through phone calls, staying focused, and awakened toward current events. All of this can be draining to our mental health, especially if we add our best friend, social media, which sometimes can be toxic.

As someone that works on social media EVERYDAY, you can only imagine how the past few months have been. It's been a ROLLERCOASTER if I say so myself. My evening runs are no longer keeping me sane, and I needed a BREAK.

I was lucky enough to land a collab with my best gals from the Dallas Social Influencers to partner with Canopy by Hilton in Frisco, Texas. Canopy by Hilton Dallas Frisco Station is a brand new hotel ideally located next to The Star and just minutes from endless shopping, dining, sports, and entertainment at Stonebriar Centre, Dr. Pepper Ballpark, Toyota Stadium, and Frisco Square.

Canopy is Frisco’s 23rd hotel, and with 150 guest rooms, the coolest bathtub ever, and it being PET FRIENDLY. I packed my bags, called my boyfriend Austin, and leashed my lab Madi for a two days STAYCATION in Frisco. Just 30 mins away from Downtown, Dallas.

Frisco was also a brand new area for me to explore as I hardly come this way often due to traffic, so I was pretty excited to see what this side of DFW had to offer. Upon our arrival at Canopy, we were greeted by the sweetest and most attentive staff. We fell in love with a local vibe and modern ranch-style décor right at their lobby, which made us even more excited to get to our room.

While we were checking in, we noticed that they had 6ft apart signs at the front desk and, of course, in the elevator, which are the areas where more people would be the closest together. Also, we noticed several hand sanitizers for guests to use and feel safe during their stay.

Our room was a dream come true, and everything we wanted for the perfect STAYCATION! A modern and clean designed room, FREE WiFi, a 55-inch HDTV, and an exclusive Canopy bed, which was AMAZING. During your stay, you can also choose different amenities such as a suite for a separate living area, wet bar, balcony, and cozy extras like bathrobes and Canopy socks. Every floor has a filtered spring water station so you can refresh and feel great going forward and is perfect for COLD ICED WATER for these TEXAS summer days.

But before I move on with all the incredible activities that you can do at Canopy in Frisco, let me brag about them some more because the PET amenities are EVERYTHING! Madi was more than happy to also have her OWN bed, food bowl, poo bags, toys, and TREATS provided by Canopy. I don't think she knew what to do with all this love! Haha.

We got ready to go out the door for dinner during our first day and decided to walk The Star, which is literally less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. We all enjoyed our walk, especially our Madi. The star is such a vibrant and active space. We decided to have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Cane Rosso, which has a location right in front of The Star and is pet friendly as it has a patio outside. We had a huge plasma display showcasing the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and a few plays from the Cowboys, which Austin, as a sports fanatic, loved to see.

For our meal, we selected the Honey Bastard, which is a sweet and spicy pie that includes mozzarella, hot soppressata, bacon marmalade, and habanero-infused honey. We also ordered their artichoke dip as an appetizer, and we paired it with a few local beers and ciders. I chose Bishop Co. Cider, Crackberry, which is perfect for these summer days.

The next morning we woke up early to take advantage of more amenities at Canopy. We started with a morning workout at their state of the art fitness center. We loved their row and bike machines. Perfect for an easy workout to wake up our body. We came back to our room and called in for their artisanal Canopy Breakfast bag to be delivered to our door, which was DELICIOUS, as it included fresh ingredients and local produce. We paired it with mimosas and bloody marys.

After breakfast, we got ready and headed for an afternoon ride with their complimentary Canopy bikes. We rode around The Star and were able to explore more of what they have to offer within their local shops and eateries. We made a quick stop at Heirloom Haul, which is a modern take on the classic tea room serving scratch-made sandwiches and salads in a pretty setting that celebrates small businesses and unique style. It also has a super chic flea market that offers plenty to look at from jewelry, clothing, and decor. After our busy morning, it was finally time to enjoy our room until our evening reception with Canopy.

We slept like babies that night, to say the least, definitely the relaxation boost needed after a couple of long months. Thank you so much, Canopy by Hilton in Frisco for a fantastic stay. If you are in the DFW metroplex area and are looking for a fun, quiet, and luxury staycation to get away for a few days this summer, Canopy by Hilton Dallas Frisco Station is the play to be. Madi approves!
