Much Love - February Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Hi loves!

Welcome back to The Daily Sash, today I bring you my review for the February Ipsy Glam Bag. As you all know I am a diehard fan of Ipsy, I’ve been a member for the past 6 months, and they definitely don’t know how to disappoint a girl’s desire for makeup and everything beauty. And if you think I am lying and I’m here just to convert you to be a subscriber, let me tell you a quick story that happened to me this month.

So as I was shopping online, just like everybody does on a daily basis, I did a purchased in one of those Chinese websites where everything is super inexpensive. I bought two phone cases for a total of $8, not bad at all right? Well, the next morning the website sends you an email letting you know when your transaction has gone through, which is good because then you know when your money is out of your account. That specific day my roommate paid me her half of the rent. Therefore, I wanted to see how much money I had in my account, well now you’re more likely to guess what happened. I was charged for a $404.99 transaction via a PayPal account. I DON’T EVEN USE PAY PAL! Anyways, don’t get me wrong, I have shopped on this website many times, and I’ve never had a problem, but it did happen. So due to this, I had to file a fraud complaint; therefore, my card was blocked.

Ipsy usually takes your payment at the beginning of the month when they release their new theme, and they wait 4 to 5 days to show you what products you will be getting on your Glam Bag. Well due to my little fraud fiasco my payment didn’t go through, obviously. So I was really sad when that happened because I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get my March Ipsy bag. BTW, it's super cute keep in the alert for the review of that in a couple of weeks. Anyways, I spend two weeks waiting for my card to get home, so as soon as I got it, I went ahead and added all my info so I could get my bag for the month of March! Lol So yeah there goes my loyalty to Ipsy, or you can just say that I am crazy.

So let’s start!

I used this highlighter in one of my recent photo shoots and let me tell you that the light this baby captures looks like the reflection on Cinderella’s glass sleepers. Not even kidding. This highlighter has a silver gray color and its super pigmented that you don’t even need that much product. You can use this highlighter as an eyeshadow as well, it brightens your eyes and makes them look so big that the end product is just beautiful. For Ipsy only sending sample sizes, the size of this product is big enough to last you for a long time! Overall, I loved this highlighter, and I would totally recommend it, especially if you have olive skin like me.

You cannot beat the price of this lipstick because it definitely is under price for the quality that you are getting. I received the Ripe Berry shade, and oh boy, it’s just beautiful. I personally like dark shades as they work better with my skin color and creates a warm tone. This lipstick is super smooth to work with and applies beautifully, you can get your desired look with only one application, and the best thing of it is that it doesn’t dry your lips! (Hydration all the way) Sadly it doesn’t stay on too long. It fades away with the used of drinking or… kissing lol. But overall this product is one of my favorites, definitely worth the try of other shades.

Oh boy, oh boy! First of all, can we talk about how gorgeous the packaging of these two masks is? Biobelle definitely outdid their market. Can I be part of their marketing team, like really? Apart, from having beautiful designs that caught your eye right away, these two masks do their job! As you all know, I currently am a Graduate Student, and with the title come a lot of projects and homework I need to get done that I hardly get any sleep especially during midterms. I had a photo shoot scheduled that weekend after midterms on a Saturday morning, let’s just say that I was sleep deprived and especially "beauty sleep" deprived. I used the #StayGorgeous mask the night before going to sleep for the time on the instructions, 20 mins. Guys, when I woke up, my skin felt so rested and hydrated, that I was ready to just do my hair and forget about makeup. You need to try this, just do it! (I have yet to try the #Iwokeuplikethis mask)

I had to chuckle at the description of this nail polish. It says “When everything else you buy costs at least three figures, it’s a great deal!” Can I count my debit card fraud and my tuition in this? Lol, I am a sucker for fresh manis and good nail polish, but sadly this Trust Fund Beauty polish that I got from Ipsy didn’t fit my expectations. The color was just too dark, and the mani only lasted a week. I went to their website to see if they had more products, and they actually have a lot of colors you can choose from that I would more likely wear, such as the “Do You Know Who My Father Is?” pink shade. I also find out that they are Vegan, and Cruelty-FREE Company, so that is definitely a plus; you should give them a try.

Hikari cosmetics have been one of my favorites since I discovered them through Ipsy. One of my favorite products from them is their eyeliner; you can check my review of that one on my December review. This time Ipsy sent me a super pigmented gold eye shadow that the gullible of me thought it was a bronzer at first lol. Well, it turns out that you can actually use it as a bronzer, but be careful not to overdo it, if not you’ll end up as one of 2 Chainz chains! The pigment is beautiful and just like the Luna highlighter you don’t need that much to glow. Overall, Hikari cosmetics did well with this eyeshadow, and their collab with Ipsy as the sample size is super easy to transport around.

So this is it, my 5 Ipsy beauty products from my February Glam Bag, which btw the theme was “Much Love” and it's all about finding your inner glow while loving your natural self. So Yes! Always always always, love yourself. I hope you enjoyed this quick review and my happy story on how not to buy on Chinese websites. You can sign up for IPSY here.
