Love Your Skin - DIY Face Mask

Hello loves, I am back just in time to bring you a life changing beauty trick to end those random blemishes due to stress and make your skin look radiant and picture perfect right before Valentine's day. As you all well know, I am in grad school and although the semester is just starting it's been a crazy and stressful month already, crazy enough that lots of random blemishes started to show up in my T-zone.

At first, I didn't know why was the reason causing these little monsters on my skin; I first thought of food right away as I was just coming back from break and let me admit that I had more sweets, especially hot cocoa than I usually consume. So I went on a cleansing diet taking all sugars out, drinking lots of water and exercise continuously for two weeks, enough to notice a change in my body, which it really didn't do much for my skin. By this time, I was already into two weeks of school, trying to decide on dropping or taking more classes and dealing with last minute roommate changes, which definitely had my stress level to the top.

So after seeing no changes, I did a little bit of research, and I found this article from Women's Health called "You can Tell What's Causing Your Acne By Where You Break Out" this article explained the reasons behind T-zone blemishes especially the forehead zone where most of my blemishes were. I found out that stress was a factor or my blemishes and weather played a big role as well ( Hello Arkansas, not!).

As a Mexican, we all believe in natural remedies than medicine especially when it comes to internal health. That's why I opted to look for a natural way to fight these blemishes and here are my steps to clearer and brighter skin. Believe me, you'll see results right away, and especially overnight, it is perfect for a date night "get ready" or as a weekly must do! You'll LOVE it!

DIY - Overnight Blemish Fight Back Face Mask

Only 3 Ingredients:

1- Baking Soda

2- Lime Juice

3- Honey

Also, you'll need:

Small Container

1 TBSP (15 ml)

Makeup Blush

Plastic Wrap

Scissors

Cooking pot

Water

Step One

Before we can start to make the mask, take the plastic wrap and cut a square big enough to cover your whole face. Make holes for your eyes, nose, and mouth as we will be using it to contain the mask ingredients in so they can do their job while you seat and relax.

Step Two

Wash and clean your face with your favorite face cleanser. Mine is the Biore Baking Soda Scrub. This is very important as we want to remove any dirt and oil from your face before we can apply the mask.

Step Three

Steaming! Place a cooking pot with some water and bring it to a boil. Once the water reaches the boiling temperature, turn the heat off and place your face near the steam. Be very cautious!

We will be doing this for about five mins to help open our pores so your skin can take all the ingredients in from the mask.

Step Four

Measure one tbsp of baking soda and pour it into the container, repeat the same step with the honey and the lime juice. Mix them all well together with your makeup brush.

Step Five

Once you have mixed the ingredients, take the brush and apply the mixture to your whole face. Make sure you apply enough baking soda paste on the affected areas.

Step Six

Once you have applied most of the mask, apply the plastic wrap onto your face. This will help your skin absorb all the ingredients, and it will also make scratching easier lol. Let it set for about 15 to 20 mins before rinsing.

Step Seven - Final!

Take the plastic wrap out, rinse your skin with warm water while exfoliating your face with circular motions. Once all mask is gone, dry your face with a towel and apply your favorite moisturizer.

That's it! Do this once, and you'll see a softer and brighter skin right away, wait until the next morning, and your blemishes are definitely almost gone. No redness or swollen, it just the best! I've been doing this three times a week for the past two weeks, and I've seen such a big change on my skin, random pimples and redness are finally GONE!

If you are suffering from any last minute embarrassing pimples, this mask definitely will help you calm them down before any big day! Let me know if you try it and tag me in your results!
